A programme advancing resilient economic growth in the Global South

Resilient Growth Pathways

The Resilient Growth Pathways programme is a new Royal Economic Society programme funded by the Open Society Foundations. The goal of the programme is to develop platforms for exchange between economists in the Global South and Global North towards the development of sustainable and resilient growth pathways to tackle global issues such as climate change and biodiversity loss.

The programme will deliver workshops and short conferences in the Global South, commencing in 2027. These events will create a platform for engagement and collaboration within the region where they are held, as well as between Global North and Global South experts.

A series of articles and reports will also be produced as part of this programme. Combined they will elevate the voices of experts working in the Global South addressing the economics of climate and biodiversity, providing a forum where they are often under-represented. This set of publications will showcase work presented at the workshop and conference and amplify actionable solutions.

Events

The first workshop and conference will be held in Indonesia in early 2027. Themes, dates, a call for papers and additional information will follow shortly – keep an eye on RES news for more information. Updates will also be shared on this page.
