Audit Committee

The Audit Committee is responsible for assisting the Trustee Board discharging its responsibilities for monitoring the integrity of the Society’s financial statement and the effectiveness of the systems of internal controls, and to monitor the effectiveness, performance and objectivity of the external auditors.

Leighton has spent the past 25 years in roles spanning academic and clinical research, policy and education, including leadership positions in the private and charitable sectors.

Leighton is Treasurer of The Evidence Quarter (a hub for the UK What Works Centres), a Governor of the University of Northampton and a Trustee of the Foundation for Professionals in Services for Adolescence. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Voluntary Sector Management from Cass Business School and a Diploma in Charity Management from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
