Voting is now open for the Society’s Council election. We encourage all RES members to take part. Council members play an important role in the governance of the Society and bring valuable perspectives and contributions to our activities.
The six successful candidates will serve on the RES Council for a term of Spring 2026 – 2031. Voting closes at 5pm on 20 March 2026.
Each year, Council reviews its composition and issues guidance to the Nominations & Appointments Committee on any dimensions where Council feels it is under-represented. For 2026, it has determined that one Council place (two places on the ballot) be reserved for candidates based outside the UK.
Council emphasises the importance of geographical diversity (particularly the North of England and Northern Ireland), gender balance, and representation across institutions and sectors.
