Victor Chernozhukov joins as Co-Editor

I am delighted to announce that Victor Chernozhukov (M.I.T.) has re-joined The Econometrics Journal as a Co-Editor from May 1. Victor previously served as an Associate Editor between 2008 and 2011.

Victor replaces Oliver Linton who has provided excellent service and support for The Econometrics Journal since he joined the Editorial Board as a Co-Editor in 2007. His wide research interests complement those of the Managing Editor, Richard J. Smith (University of Cambridge), and the current Co-Editors, Jaap Abbring (Tilburg University), Michael Jansson (University of California at Berkeley) and Andrew Patton (Duke University). The Econometrics Journal and the Royal Economic Society would like to express its gratitude to Oliver and wish him success in his new role as an Editor of Journal of Econometrics.

The recruitment of an Editorial Board of international distinction is and has been critical to raising the international profile and academic standing of The Econometrics Journal. The appointment of Victor as a Co-Editor underlines and reinforces the original intention of the Royal Economic Society of creating a high-quality refereed journal with a standard of intellectual rigour and academic standing similar to those of the pre-existing top international field journals for econometric research.
