UK Women in Economics Network first annual networking event

On Wednesday 7 February, the UK Women in Economics Network (UK WEN) held its first annual networking event, kindly sponsored by the Society of Professional Economists (SPE) and Haver Analytics, and hosted by Nomura Asset Management. We were fortunate to have a keynote speech from Sarah Breeden, Deputy Governor for Financial Stability, Bank of England talking on monetary policy, and two insightful panel discussions:

  • What leaders can do to support women in their workplaces, with speakers Jo Swaffield, Professor of Economics and Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Southampton & Chair of RES Women’s Committee, Dharshini David, Chief Economics Correspondent, BBC News, Jumana Saleheen, Chief Economist & Head of Investment Strategy Group, Europe at Vanguard Asset Management, and Chaired by Misa Tanaka, Head of Research, Bank of England
