The Economic Journal is delighted to announce the appointment of Paola Manzini as Editor from January 2025.
Paola is Professor of Economics at the University of Bristol. Her research interests lie in the mathematical modelling of human decisions and interactions in possibly conflictual strategic situations (i.e. game theory). She has worked extensively on bargaining and negotiations, and more recently on modelling the behaviour of agents who fail the classic assumptions of full rationality, e.g. because of attention failures, misperception of time, reliance on possibly suboptimal rules of thumb, and so on.
Paola stated: “I am honoured and excited to be joining The Economic Journal as Editor. The Journal and the Royal Economic Society have been my companions first as a student, then as an author. Now I look forward to work with my distinguished colleagues on the Editorial Board, contributing to the RES flagship journal’s reputation for being one of the most highly cited general interest journals in the world. The EJ publishes papers in all area of economics, including my speciality, economic theory, and I welcome the opportunity to read many high quality submissions in this area, and beyond.”
The Editorial Board of The Economic Journal includes an Editor-in-Chief, a Special Issues Editor and eight Editors.
