Our joint event last October with LSE IDEAS "Ten years After the Global Financial Crisis: what have we learned and what did we forget?" is now available to listen to again in full via LSE Podcasts.
Thesession explores the causes of the 2008 global financial crash and the responses of the major advanced economies, which drew on the lessons of the 1930s. A decade on from the crisis, the global financial system has yet to return to ‘normal’, with prolonged low interest rates posing a risk to its stability. It is time to reflect on previous financial crises and the policy lessons we have learned – and failed to learn – from them.
The session is chaired by current RES President Lord Nicholas Stern and includes the following speakers:
- Charles Bean, Professor of Economics at LSE and a former Deputy Governor of the Bank of England
