Royal Economic Society and Frontier Economics extend strategic partnership to champion equity, diversity and inclusion in economics

The Royal Economic Society (RES) and Frontier Economics are pleased to announce an extension of their strategic partnership, continuing Frontier’s role as the Society’s Strategic Partner for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI).

The partnership builds on the collaboration first launched in 2025 and reflects a shared commitment to improving inclusion, broadening participation, and strengthening professional culture across the economics profession.

Alongside activity across the RES Diversity & Inclusion Network, Discover Economics, and the UK Women in Economics Network (UK WEN), the partnership also includes RES Institutional Membership, creating additional opportunities for Frontier colleagues to engage with the Society’s institutional programme and events.

Building on a strong first year

Over the first year, the partnership was brought to life through high profile D&I Network events, and UK WEN career programmes featuring Frontier speakers and worked through Discover Economics to support the launch and promotion of Frontier’s degree apprenticeship scheme.

As we move into this next phase of collaboration, the partnership continues to reinforce both RES’s and Frontier Economics’ shared dedication to fostering a more diverse and inclusive economics community, supporting progress, learning and innovation across the discipline.

Giovanni Razzu, RES Diversity, Inclusion and Professional Conduct (DIPC) Trustee, stated:

“Extending our partnership with Frontier Economics builds on a strong first year of collaboration. Together, we’re focused on strengthening professional culture, widening participation, and supporting pathways into economics through practical action, so that talented people from all backgrounds can thrive.”

Andrew Leicester, Executive Director and member of Frontier’s ED&I Council, said:

“I’m thrilled that we will continue to be the strategic ED&I Partner for the RES for a second year, building on the great work delivered in year one. The Partnership underpins Frontier’s ongoing commitment to ED&I in the face of global headwinds, and our determination to make the economics profession open and inclusive to as many talented people as possible.”
