The RES is seeking a PhD student or early career economist* to join the nominations and judging panel for awarding the RES Medal for Services to the Economics Profession. The Medal is a new annual award to recognise an individual who has made an outstanding and lasting contribution to the profession in one or more of three dimensions: promoting economics; supporting economists; improving diversity. Further information on the Medal is available here.

The person will join a panel comprising the President and three members of RES Council. The panel will meet virtually at least twice to consider nominations and to ultimately select an awardee. For the inaugural award this process will begin towards the end of 2022 and should conclude by the end of February 2023. It is intended that panel members commit to the role for three years.

Expressions of interest including a current CV should be sent to resoffice@res.org.uk by 7 October 2022.

*Defined as having completed their studies within the past five years.
