RES Chair of Trustees vacancy

Following the resignation of Sir David Greenaway due to ill-health, the RES invites applications for the role of Chair of Trustees.

The RES Trustee Board is legally responsible for the overall governance, management and policies of the Society, ensuring that the charitable objects for which it has been set up are met. The Trustee Board is constituted of:

  • Four Honorary Officers (the President, President-elect, Honorary Treasurer and the Chair of Trustees)
  • Three Council members
  • Up to five co-opted members.

The Chair works in partnership with the Chief Executive to ensure that the RES has a clear strategic direction and that the Trustee Board and the Chief Executive are focused on achieving these. In so doing, the Chair ensures that the board fulfils its duties and responsibilities for the good governance of the Society.

The successful applicant will begin their term in early 2023; the term will conclude at the Society’s Annual General Meeting in 2026.
