RES at Pride in London 2024: Call for marchers!

Pride Month - call for marchers-02

The Royal Economic Society (RES) is pleased to announce that, after a competitive application process, we have obtained 50 wristbands to march at Pride in London. This will take place on Saturday, 29 June 2024. We are excited to have economists represented at Pride and are therefore seeking expressions of interest, from members of the Society, to march with us on the day. Priority will be given to those who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ Community and all allies.

We want to celebrate and support the representation of LGBTQIA+ economists, by participating in a safe and vibrant space through Pride in London. This aligns closely with our strategic mission and priorities: bringing communities of economists together, and improving diversity, inclusion and integrity in the profession.

We will provide the wristbands free of charge and manage all coordination for the event. Personal expenses for the day you will need to cover and you may want to get support from your institution. Please reach out to the office if you have any access or engagement needs and we can see how we can help, resoffice@res.org.uk.

You can find more information on the event, here: March details.

Submit your expression of interest by filling out this form. The deadline to submit interest is 5pm on 31 May 2024. If you are allocated a space, a zoom meeting and supporting documents will be provided ahead of the march on 29 June. If we are oversubscribed we will prioritise those who identify from the LGBTQIA+ community, alongside submission date. You will be notified if you have a place on the march in early June.

*The information provided in the form will only be used for the purposes of organising the event and will be treated confidentially in-line with GDPR. If there are any questions, please reach out to Liza: resoffice@res.org.uk.
