The Royal Economic Society is pleased to announce that Fabien Postel-Vinay, Professor of Economics at University College London and Research Director at the Institute for Fiscal Studies, has been appointed Chair of the Society’s Publications Committee from October 2024.
Professor Postel-Vinay is Head of the Economics Department at UCL, an IZA Research Fellow, a member of the Centre for Macroeconomics, a founding member of the European Search and Matching (SaM) network, and a Fellow of the Econometric Society. His research fields are applied and theoretical labor economics, labor market policy and economic dynamics. He has published articles in leading international journals including American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, Review of Economic Studies, International Economic Review, The Economic Journal, The Journal of the European Economic Association, and Econometrica.
Professor Postel-Vinay said: “I am both deeply honoured and excited about this opportunity to contribute to one of the RES’s most important missions, which is to advance research in economics through knowledge exchange. I am very much looking forward to working with the Society and with the group of outstanding and diverse academics who constitute the editorial boards of The Economic Journal and The Econometrics Journal.”
On behalf of the Trustee Board, the Publications Committee oversees the Society’s scholarly publishing activities, ensuring that the strategic and financial goals for publications are achieved, given the Society’s overall charitable mission.
The Society would also like to thank the outgoing Chair, Professor Morten O. Ravn, for his longstanding support for RES publications in leadership and editorial roles over many years.
