RES Annual Public Lecture 2023: recording now available

RES Annual Lecture 2023 25

The Royal Economic Society held our Annual Public Lecture 2023 last month, on 13 June at the University of Glasgow and 21 June at the University of Reading.

This year’s lecture was given by Prof Wendy Carlin (University of College London) titled ‘Capitalism, carbon, and colonies – looking back and looking forward’. Both events were well-attended with around 320 attendees in total.

Many of the students seemed to have enjoyed the lecture and provided opportunities for some interesting and thought-provoking questions. In addition, an award ceremony was held at the University of Reading for the winner of last year’s Young Economist of the Year competition, Henry Wilson-Litt.

Photos from the event and the APL recording is available here.

We hope all attendees have enjoyed this year’s APL and we hope to continue the dissemination of economics amongst students.

More information about the APL and past lectures may be found here.
