The Royal Economic Society is pleased to announce that we will be working together with the Scottish Economic Society (SES) for the RES Annual Conference 2023.

A joint RES/SES Annual Conference will be held from 3-5 April 2023 in Scotland at the University of Glasgow where we will be celebrating Adam Smith’s 300th birthday, making collaboration with the SES all the more fitting. Watch out for a great line-up of keynote speakers!

The SES looks to promote the study and teaching of economics drawing on a Scottish tradition of political economy going back to Adam Smith.  The RES aims to increase partnerships between nations in promoting the study of economic science. Through this joint effort in 2023, we hope to be able to reach even greater audiences, together.

The conference will also be returning to an in-person format and we look forward to welcoming everyone back.

In order to prepare for the joint 2023 conference, here is an outline of our call for papers process:

  • Call for Papers opens – Late August 2022
  • Call for Papers deadline – Mid October 2022
  • Outcome emails sent – Mid December 2022
  • Bookings for conference will open in Mid December 2022
