The Royal Economic Society is delighted to announce the host for the RES 2025 Annual Public Lecture will be Loughborough University. Congratulations to the Business School for a well-presented bid, we are looking forward to working with the team to deliver this vested RES event. Principally aimed at sixth form students, the APL will take place in-person and will be live streamed this year. The lecturer for 2025 is Chief executive officer of the Royal Society of Arts, Andy Haldane.
Andy stated: “I am delighted to have been invited to give the 2025 RES Annual Public Lecture. The economy is not a concept or academic discipline. We are the economy and when it fails so do we. That is why understanding it, managing it and communicating about it is so important to us all. Those are the topics I will be discussing to students in November.”
In addition, congratulations to the University of Kingston who will host the 2026 lecture and the University of Southampton who will host 2027.
