The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) has announced the membership of advisory groups for the Subject Benchmark Statements reviews in 2022.

Many of the Royal Economic Society committee members have taken part in the reviews as members of this year's QAA advisory groups; the Royal Economic Society is pleased to announce this publication and welcomes the news.

Subject Benchmark Statements describe the nature of study and the academic standards expected of graduates in specific subject areas. They are used as reference points in the design, delivery and review of academic programmes.

QAA leads the development of the Subject Benchmark Statements and reviews them on a cyclical basis to ensure they keep their currency and are useful as possible for discipline communities.

To ensure the diversity and quality of the SBS, each subject being reviewed falls under an advisory group consisting of members of the academic community, employers, professional, statutory and regulatory bodies (PSRBs) and students.
