The RES is recruiting for a doctoral student or early career economist to join the judging panel for the RES Medal for Services to the Economics Profession. The medal recognises an individual who has made an outstanding and lasting contribution to the economics profession. The medal will be awarded at the 2027 RES Annual Conference.
The successful applicant will join a panel comprising the President Prof. Tony Venables and three Council members: Prof. Silvana Tenreyro, Prof. Anna Valero, and Prof. Arun Advani.
It is intended that the PhD student or ECE commits to the role for two years. The time commitment is an online meeting in January or February 2027, preceded by a shortlisting of candidates which the panel does collectively.
