The Economic Journal has published its latest virtual issue, The Economics of Income and Wealth Distribution, which can be read online for free for a limited time.
Over the past 20 years, the evolution of income and wealth inequality has been at the centre of both news coverage and academic debates. This virtual issue compiles 11 articles, published in The Economic Journal, which exemplify how economics has addressed questions related to the measurement and modelling of inequality.
The issue is organised around three themes:
- the measurement of wealth and income inequality;
- the theoretical exploration of the origins and implications of inequality; and
- a specific source of wealth inequality that has gained attention in theoretical literature: heterogeneity of beliefs in financial markets.
