The RES has capped membership prices increases for 2021 at 1.5% to help those who have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The cap means that most members will pay an additional £1 only next year, with prices for student and retired members being frozen. Additionally a new concessionary rate of £12 is being introduced for unemployed members.

The RES Executive Committee has agreed to move to income-based member pricing from 2022: those on the lowest incomes will benefit from a reduced price, whilst those on higher incomes will be asked to pay more. More details on this change will be announced in 2021.

Members in the UK are also reminded that they may be able to claim tax relief on their membership subscription. Further details are available on the RES website.
