Think tanks are research organisations that develop ideas on a whole range of subjects affecting society. They make suggestions for action, using research, analysis and commentary to inform and influence politicians, policy makers and the public.
Given the recent economic, social and political issues facing the UK, encouraging more diversity in the world of research and policy-making is more important than ever. To contribute to this, a group of think tanks and similar organisations have joined together to hold a webinar for undergraduates about working in the think tank sector.

The aim of this event is to demystify the world of think tanks. It will start with an introductory session giving a broad overview of the sector, followed by a series of short panels focusing on specific topics. Attendees will be able to choose to join the panels they’re most interested in.

Denise is Professor of Education Economics and the Head of School of Economics, Finance and Law at Anglia Ruskin University. Denise is an applied education economist and truly multi-disciplinary, applying econometric techniques to topics from higher education transitions, equality, diversity and inclusion in higher education and the value of doctoral education.
