Applications are now open for the RES COVID Academic Support fund, a new fund to support members who have been particularly affected by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on UK universities and academic departments, and to support innovations in teaching economics that have arisen from online/blended learning delivery during 2020. Heads of department are invited to submit applications, with funding awards considered of up to £10,000 per PhD student or early career economist and up to £20,000 each for innovative teaching methods. The total amount awarded to any one institution will be capped at £50,000. This first funding round will close at 5pm UK time on 15 February (for funding for the academic year 2020-21), with a second round (for funding for the academic year 2021-22) opening in April.
