Applications open for Campaign Manager, Discover Economics

The RES is proud to be a founding partner of Discover Economics, a new campaign that aims to increase diversity among economics undergraduate students, where women, students from state schools and colleges and many BAME groups are under-represented. Its current activities and plans include a student-facing website (www.discovereconomics.ac.uk), featuring a COVID19 blog, school/college outreach events and a student ambassador programme. To date, work on the campaign has been done by its co-Chairs Sarah Smith (Professor of Economics at the University of Bristol) and Arun Advani (Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Warwick) with support from the RES executive team and an active working group. The campaign has recently secured funding from the RES and the Health Foundation allowing it to make its first dedicated appointment and helping to take the campaign to a new level.

The Campaign Manager role involves delivering a student ambassador programme, establishing a student-facing website, identifying and applying for funding and developing an effective communications strategy to promote the campaign to a broad audience.

Applications are open now and close on 6 July 2020. For further details please visit the RES website.
