Vacancy: Co-opted Trustees

The Royal Economic Society is seeking to appoint two Co-opted Trustees to replace existing trustees whose terms end in October 2024.

The RES Trustee Board is legally responsible for the overall governance, management and policies of the Society, ensuring that the charitable objects for which it has been set up are met. The Trustee Board is constituted of four Honorary Officers (the President, President-elect, Honorary Treasurer and the Chair of Trustees), three Council members and up to five co-opted members.

The core tasks and responsibilities of the role are set out in the attached role description.

Following a review of the skills, expertise and representativeness of the current Board, the Trustee Board particularly welcomes applications from individuals:

  • with fundraising expertise
  • with communications expertise
  • with experience of working in an economics-related role in the private sector (either currently or in a previous position).
