The 2018 Austin Robinson Memorial Prize was awarded to Isabel Cairó and Tomaz Cajner for their article ‘ Human Capital and Unemployment Dynamics: Why More-Educated Workers Enjoy Greater Employment Stability.’ The paper addresses how workers with different educational backgrounds fare on the job market in terms of job stability. The paper demonstrates how on-the-job training embedded in a search and matching model provides job stability for highly educated workers while, surprisingly, job finding rates for different types of workers are similar.
